WORKSHOPS AND PROJECTS

Our didactic offer is enriched with multiple supplementary courses which are particularly useful and stimulating.
This is done through the following workshops and projects:

FOOD PROJECT

Children learn the importance of healthy eating as a tool to promote correct and balanced psychophysical development. A philosophy we apply also through our educational garden and the service offered by our canteen.

FRENCH LANGUAGE WORKSHOP

Children are encouraged to take a further step towards the knowledge of other languages and cultures to promote an increasingly adequate European identity.

GRANDPARENTS TELL...

The children participate in an experience that is much more than a ‘laboratory’: it is a very special moment of sharing! Once a month, the students of the School have the opportunity to listen to their grandparents, who will lead them, with their stories, through lived experiences and unique emotions. A space in which to give words, feelings, stories and above all time, in a precious and unrepeatable generational exchange.

LABORATORY OF HANDLING AND CREATIVE MANUALITY

Children are accompanied to discover the five senses, through which to observe and explore, strengthening identity, autonomy and skills.

LIFE-SAVING PROJECT

Children are encouraged to respect and enhance the environment, including some fundamental rules, such as the importance of not wasting the earth’s resources, of practicing separate collection and of maintaining other behaviors that make nature ‘happy’.

MUMMY AND ME

The children participate in an English language workshop together with their parents. Once a month, this creates an additional moment of stimulation and sharing, functional also to a greater enhancement of language skills.

MUSICAL WORKSHOP

Children are guided in their approach to music and its fundamental components, but not only. The main objective is to build a solid competence in basic music: not to teach only the names of the notes, but to create a vocabulary based exclusively on the experience that the child can constantly draw on in his live music so as to make it natural the subsequent use of the musical skills acquired towards a technical-instrumental specialization is spontaneous. The teaching of music takes place according to the Orff-Schulwerk methodology, an active and creative approach to making music, which considers the trinomial music – movement – word, instruments, improvisation, production processes, total involvement of the inseparable person learning with and through the group.

PAINTING WORKSHOP

Children develop their creativity by experimenting with the use of color through a process that is cathartic and creative.

PROJECT 4 ELEMENTS

Children are guided to discover the four elements (fire, water, air, earth) through stories, experiments and creations

READING WORKSHOP

Children are stimulated to discover the moment of reading. Read to grow together. Connected to the reading laboratory is the space dedicated to our Bilingual Library, as well as the activity offered through our exclusive Book Club.

ROAD SAFETY PROJECT

Children learn some rules of the highway code, but, more broadly and significantly, they understand above all the concept of security with regard to the entire dimension of civil and democratic coexistence.

THEATRICAL WORKSHOP

Children expand their knowledge of themselves and the world around them, developing a greater critical sense through their naturally marked ability to ‘dramatize’ emotions and events. The cathartic process that is activated certainly works when you see them directly on stage, but also when you find them in the guise of spectators.

The intensity of the commitment grows and the objectives are enriched once they reach the nursery school, divided, according to our educational plan, into four sections, marked by different age groups, which range from 3 to 6 years.

The transition from Kindergarten to Primary School is also particularly delicate, being characterized by the even more intense evolution in the growth, education and education of pupils, who will travel the new path fed by the fundamental principles of school life and by the lessons learned in previous years, especially in the Transition phase.

Extra and Services

AFTERNOON AND EXTRA COURSES

Among the imperatives of our educational approach, the need to continually urge children to explore the external and internal world stands out, creating, moving, knowing. This certainly occurs through teaching in the strict sense, but also through the many and exclusive activities offered within our extra activities, in particular, in our afternoon courses.

ANDERSEN PLAY&PARTY

The service offered by Andersen Play & Party, managed with passion by our baby party Planner, Lucia, deeply inspired by the pedagogical philosophy of the Serena Andersen School, was born with the specific objective of making each party a unique experience.

SUMMER CAMP

Serena Summer Camp represents a service aimed at children between 3 and 12 years of age, to spend some time with a summer flavor together, with the aim of having fun, but also of studying, albeit with the lightness that the summer brings.

BUS SCHOOL

A shuttle service is available upon request, which reaches different locations, for a fee. The school bus has an assistant on board.

CAFETERIA

We believe that food affects the health, growth, education and lifestyle ofchildren in an extremely significant way. It is therefore our priority to give importance to the role assumed by the school canteen: it not only provides the main meal of the day, but also and above all the opportunity to get to know and experience healthy nutrition. Thus, the time of school meals is considered by us in all respects an educational moment.
