The large – but not dispersive – areas available are distributed over several levels, used for variable scenarios based on the different times of the day and the varied activities carried out.
Particularly noteworthy is the large outdoor space where children can get in touch with nature and move around in greater freedom. A common space, ours, where we can be together outdoors to play, get to know and get to know each other, to share. A small oasis, sheltered from the urban landscape, of which we are particularly proud. In this same perspective, there is also the outdoor space specially used for lunch in spring and summer.
And, speaking of the spaces in which to live in freedom, inside the Institute there is a gym with excellent equipment, where you can practice the different sports and the many afternoon activities provided by the Institute: a safe environment, but, at the same time, highly stimulating, available to children in order to promote better motor coordination and greater awareness of their physicality and spaces, thus acquiring awareness of respect for those of others.
Throughout the structure, the light filters through skylights and transparencies, enhancing the colors and enveloping the various rooms. Brightness and continuity between the spaces contribute to creating an atmosphere of well-being and sharing, without sacrificing privacy: the reflections of light penetrate, but not also the external glances.
In order to encourage further and more complete development of students’ skills, particular attention is also paid to their digital competence. In our structure there are special smart tables at their disposal, interactive learning centers whose horizontal surfaces are 360 degrees interactive and multi-touch. This is an absolute novelty, through which a simple, fun and engaging learning opportunity is provided by stimulating, among other things, cognitive, social and motor coordination skills.
Finally, the space dedicated to the bilingual library is also a reason for further pride for our Institute. It aims to stimulate the love of reading, also assuming an indisputable and strategic importance in the learning process. The library is for the exclusive use of pupils, as well as members of our Book Club.
Among the imperatives of our educational approach, the need to continually urge children to explore the external and internal world stands out, creating, moving, knowing. This certainly occurs through teaching in the strict sense, but also through the many and exclusive activities offered within our extra activities, in particular, in our afternoon courses.
The service offered by Andersen Play & Party, managed with passion by our baby party Planner, Lucia, deeply inspired by the pedagogical philosophy of the Serena Andersen School, was born with the specific objective of making each party a unique experience.
Serena Summer Camp represents a service aimed at children between 3 and 12 years of age, to spend some time with a summer flavor together, with the aim of having fun, but also of studying, albeit with the lightness that the summer brings.
A shuttle service is available upon request, which reaches different locations, for a fee. The school bus has an assistant on board.
We believe that food affects the health, growth, education and lifestyle ofchildren in an extremely significant way. It is therefore our priority to give importance to the role assumed by the school canteen: it not only provides the main meal of the day, but also and above all the opportunity to get to know and experience healthy nutrition. Thus, the time of school meals is considered by us in all respects an educational moment.
